Salvia is the largest genus of plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae, with approximately 700-900 species of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and annuals.

I am by no means a collector of Salvias. I do however have a few that sit well with my collection of tender and Meditteranean shrubs. All are ideal candidates for growing in large tubs and all will need a little protection and aught to be kept frost free in the winter.
