Lotus hirsutus
A low growing evergreen shrub with hairy, grey foliage and white flowers from pink buds in the summer. These are followed by glossy, reddish-brown, woody seed pods that are as decorative that the flowers, if not more so. Exceptionally tough if given reasonably good drainage. We had it come through -18 last winter as a young plant. A lovely front of border or rockery plant.
